Local recording and editing

Camera video, microphone audio, imported clips, music, edit settings and finished exports are processed on your device. You can use recording and editing without an account. The app does not automatically upload finished exports. Sharing through your device sends the files to the service or person you select.

Automatic cloud backup

Backup is on by default from build 20 and can be switched off in Settings. Earlier builds may require enabling it. When backup is active, the app securely generates and saves credentials for this phone. Google Firebase Authentication processes this random device-account identifier and authentication information; you do not need to provide an email address or password. Existing email-based accounts continue to use their email and authentication information. We use a Firebase user identifier to associate backups with the saved identity. Automatic backup uploads saved raw recording chunks and imported original clips while the app is open, uses Wi-Fi by default, and retries pending uploads after connectivity returns. When backup is enabled, original video clips (including their recorded audio), filenames, sizes, durations and associated tape identifiers are sent over HTTPS to our Cloudflare service. Edited final renders, dates/titles added in the editor, and editing projects are not uploaded by this backup feature.

Access and service providers

Google/Firebase provides authentication. Cloudflare provides hosting, storage and network security. Authorized super administrators can access backed-up original media to operate and support the service. Ordinary administrators can view account and storage information but cannot view raw media. Cloud backup is not end-to-end encrypted against the service operator. Service providers may process data in countries other than your own.

Operational data

Authentication and hosting services process network and request information, such as IP addresses, request times and error information, to provide and protect the service. We use account and backup metadata for storage limits, support and service operation. This app has no advertising SDK or cross-app advertising tracking. We do not sell your personal information.

Permissions

Camera and microphone permission enable recording. Photo-library and file access let you import media and save exports. You can change these permissions in your device settings.

Retention and deletion

Local media remains until you remove it or uninstall the app. Saved Photos copies are managed separately. Cloud originals remain until deletion is requested. Use Settings → Delete cloud backup or request deletion without the app. Successful in-app deletion stops automatic backup and removes your backup identity immediately and schedules cloud originals and account storage metadata for deletion within 30 days. Operational records may be retained where necessary for security or legal obligations.

Your choices and contact

You can switch cloud backup off in Settings. You can request access, correction or deletion by contacting apps@cryptdapp.com. We may verify account ownership. This general-purpose recording app is not directed specifically to children. Changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated effective date.
