Delete your account

You can request deletion of your VHS Camera backup identity and cloud originals at any time, including when you have never entered an email or password.

In the app

1. Open Settings on the phone used for backup.
2. Under This phone’s backup, choose Delete cloud backup.
3. Confirm Delete cloud backup. Device-only backup does not ask for a password. Older email-based accounts require their existing password.

Automatic backup is stopped and the backup identity is deleted immediately after successful confirmation. Cloud originals and account storage metadata are scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days. Local tapes and videos saved to Photos remain on your device; remove those using your device controls if desired.

Without the app

Email apps@cryptdapp.com with the subject “VHS Camera Account Deletion”, and include the Backup ID shown in Settings. For an older email-based account, send the request from that email address. We will verify ownership before acting; a Backup ID alone does not authorize access or deletion. If the app and identity have already been erased, contact support to discuss ownership verification. Do not include your password. You may also request deletion of cloud originals without deleting your backup identity.
